Vegetarian diets are increasingly adopted by adolescents for health, ethical, and environmental reasons. However, this dietary pattern presents both potential benefits and risks that require comprehensive evaluation. This study employed a narrative review method by conducting a literature search through the PubMed and Google Scholar databases. Article selection was carried out using the PRISMA flow diagram based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tools. Eligible articles were then synthesized narratively according to major themes. The findings indicated that vegetarian diets among adolescents were associated with lower body mass index (BMI), improved lipid profiles, higher diet quality, and greater intakes of fiber, folate, vitamin C, and magnesium. Furthermore, vegetarian diets may promote nutritional awareness and healthier eating behaviors. However, poorly planned vegetarian diets may increase the risk of deficiencies in vitamin B12, iron, calcium, zinc, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids, as well as potentially increase the risk of anemia and restrictive eating behaviors. Vegetarian diets can provide significant health benefits for adolescents when appropriately planned. Nutrition education, regular nutritional status monitoring, the consumption of fortified foods, and appropriate supplementation are essential to ensure adequate nutrient intake and support optimal adolescent growth and development.
2026-08-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Rebecca Sharlene Ayentha Herdianto, Adji Aisy Tavania Zahra https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/7839 Efektivitas Stimulasi Deteksi Dini Tumbuh Kembang SDIDTK Oleh Kader Posyandu Lavenda terhadap Perkembangan Motorik Anak Usia 0-5 Tahun 2026-07-14T10:47:09+00:00 Liza Liza meildaeimilya.mei88@gmail.com Melda Emilya meldaemilya.me88@gmail.com Embun Nadya meildaeimilya.mei88@gmail.com
Thei first 1000 days of lifei (1000 HPK), from conceiption until a child’s seicond birthday, arei a critical peiriod for growth, organ deiveilopmeint, and long-teirm heialth. A quasi-experimental design employing a non-equivalent pretest–posttest control group approach was utilized, involving 78 participants divided into an intervention group (39 individuals) and a control group (39 individuals). Statistical analyses were conducted using paired samples t-tests, independent samples t-tests, N-Gain analysis, and multiple linear regression. The findings revealed a significant increase in knowledge within the intervention group, with mean scores rising from 12.41 to 17.28 (p<0.05), while the control group exhibited no statistically meaningful change. Post-intervention comparisons demonstrated a significant difference between groups (p<0.05). The N-Gain value of 65.05% indicates that CLSR training achieved a moderately effective level of knowledge improvement. Categorically, all participants in the intervention group attained a “good” level of knowledge following the training. Regression analysis identified CLSR training as the primary determinant of knowledge enhancement, whereas age, educational background, and length of employment were not statistically significant predictors (p>0.05). In conclusion, CLSR training is empirically proven to be effective in significantly and consistently improving workers’ knowledge in high-risk industrial environments.
2026-08-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Arie Sumarlin, KM Agus Riyanto, Dyan Kunthi Nugrahaeni, Novie Elvinawaty Mauliku, Budiman Budiman https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/7406 Pure Decompression versus Decompression with Fusion in Degenerative Lumbar Spondylolisthesis: A Meta-Analysis of Long-Term Outcomes 2026-06-18T04:34:43+00:00 Andika Prasetyo Arifin andikaprasetyo12@gmail.com M. Although decompression surgery is generally considered effective for relieving neural compression, whether fusion should be added at the same time is still controversial, particularly when long-term results and resource use are taken into account. This meta-analysis followed PRISMA guidelines. We systematically searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for randomized controlled trials involving adults with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. The main outcomes were functional disability measured by the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), along with separate assessments of low back pain and leg pain. Data were pooled in Review Manager 5.4 using fixed- or random-effects models as appropriate, and results were reported with 95% confidence intervals. Across the three included trials, the two surgical strategies performed similarly overall. There were no meaningful differences in ODI scores or in reported back and leg pain. Decompression alone was linked to a slightly higher reoperation rate, but the difference was not statistically significant. In contrast, adding fusion led to longer operative times and longer hospital stays, without providing a clear clinical benefit. Taken together, these findings suggest that decompression without fusion may be a simpler, more resource-efficient choice for carefully selected patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis who do not have instability or major deformity. That said, the evidence is still limited by the small number of trials and relatively short follow-up. Larger, well-designed studies with longer observation are needed to better determine how durable the outcomes are and what the true reoperation risk is.
2026-08-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Andika Prasetyo Arifin, M. Digital Health Literacy (DHL) has become a critical competency for PHC workers, particularly in Indonesia, alongside the implementation of SATUSEHAT and the Six Pillars of Health Transformation, which depend on the digital capacity of the health workforce. This scoping review aims to synthesize evidence on: (1) the role of DHL in strengthening PHC workforce capacity; (2) system-level benefits of investing in DHL; (3) barriers to its development; and (4) evidence-based policy recommendations for Indonesia and comparable LMICs. The review followed the Arksey & O’Malley (2005) framework, with searches conducted in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Frontiers, and WHO repositories. Keywords included digital health/eHealth literacy, primary health care, health workers, and capacity building, while grey literature from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and ASEAN health authorities was also included. Screening and data extraction were conducted independently by two reviewers. DHL improves clinical decision-making, health information management, patient engagement, interprofessional collaboration, and continuous professional development. At the system level, it enhances service quality, efficiency, equity, and health surveillance. Key barriers include limited infrastructure, low baseline DHL, unequal access to training, data privacy concerns, and fragmented training approaches. Five policy recommendations were proposed. The objective of this study is to analyse the factors associated with premarital sexual behavioural intentions among students at State Senior High School X Samarinda, considering both demographic aspects and current psychological conditions. The present study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, and involved 125 respondents who were selected through a multistage random sampling technique. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews using the DASS-21 instrument, the Self-Harm Inventory, as well as scales for intention and peer pressure. The subsequent analysis employed multiple linear regression. The findings of the study indicated that intentions regarding sexual behaviour in the premarital context were found to be significantly influenced by grade level (p = 0.029) and peer pressure (p = 0.011). In the eleventh grade, students demonstrated a decline in intentions, whilst high levels of peer pressure resulted in an escalation in sexual intentions. It is noteworthy that psychological variables, including depression, self-control, and self-esteem, did not demonstrate a substantial impact in this model. The findings of this study indicate that sexual intention among adolescents in Samarinda is more situational-social in nature, rather than being merely an internal individual issue. It is recommended that educational institutions consider the implementation of enhanced peer education programmes and assertiveness skills training as a means of mitigating the potentially detrimental influences of the social environment.
2026-08-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Rea Ariyanti, Saefurrohim, MZ, Agustin Putri Rahayu, Muh Amri Arfandi https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/7794 Analisis Kadar Zat Besi (Fe) Serum dan Jumlah Eritrosit Remaja Putri Anemia yang Mendapatkan Program Makan Bergizi Gratis 2026-06-11T05:20:41+00:00 Hendrawati T. Findings from the I-NAMHS 2023 reveal that over 33% of the adolescent population encountered mental health difficulties during the past 12 months. This condition is influenced by various interrelated determinants, both at the individual and environmental levels. The objective of this research was to examine the various factors influencing adolescent mental well-being in Indonesia through a systematic literature review. A comprehensive search was carried out across Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed to identify academic papers written between 2020 and 2025, focusing on quantitative cross-sectional studies involving adolescents aged 10–19 years. Guided by PRISMA protocols, the methodological rigor of the selected literature was assessed via the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. Ultimately, from a pool of 1,825 retrieved articles, 21 met the inclusion standards and were subsequently analyzed. The findings indicate that adolescent mental health is influenced by internal factors such as sex, history of chronic illness, genetic predisposition, personality type, and lifestyle, as well as external factors including parenting style, social support, academic stress, experiences of bullying, socioeconomic status, digital media use, and educational environment. This study underscores that teenager mental well-being is determined by multi-level interactions, necessitating multifaceted interventions at personal, family, and community levels.
2026-08-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Siti Halimatul Munawarah https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/8258 Pengaruh Edukasi Menggunakan Media Buku Cerita terhadap Pengetahuan tentang Pemilahan Sampah pada Anak – Anak di SDN Merjosari 4 Kota Malang 2026-06-30T04:18:25+00:00 Nafisah Azzahrohdinda Khosiatulloh azzahrohdinda@gmail.com Jupriyono Jupriyono jupriyono_skp@poltekkes-malang.ac.id Wandi Wandi wan.di64@yahoo.co.id Pudji Suryani pudjisuryani@gmail.com
Waste segregation is crucial because each type of waste has a different decomposition time. Although teachers play an important role in health education, evidence on CVD risk factors among teachers, particularly biology teachers, remains limited. This study aimed to describe CVD risk factors and explore their association with hypertension among biology teachers in Gorontalo. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 39 members of the Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) biology teacher in Gorontalo City. Data were collected through questionnaires and physical examinations. Association between categorical variables were analyzed using the Chi-square / Fisher's exact test, along with odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results: Most participants were female (87.2%) and aged ≥40 years (66.7%). The prevalence of hypertension, overweight/obesity, and central obesity was 59.0%, 61.5%, and 71.8%, respectively. Insufficient physical activity was identified in 43.6% of participants, while daily consumption of sweet foods, sugar-sweetened beverages, and monosodium glutamate (MSG) seasonings remained common. Bivariate analyses showed no significant association between investigated risk factors and hypertension. However, a higher risk of hypertension was observed among those aged ≥40 years (OR = 3.60; 95% CI: 0.73–18.41) and those with mental health problems, although the associations were not statistically significant.
