This study aims to identify the factors associated with the choice of IUD contraception at the Singkut Health Center in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. The research employed an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 3,985 active family planning acceptors in 2023, from which 351 respondents were selected using random sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed univariately to assess levels of knowledge, attitudes, partner support, socio-cultural influences, and IUD contraceptive choices. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The statistical results indicated that the majority of respondents (69.2%) had good knowledge about IUDs, most (80.1%) had positive attitudes, a significant portion (61.8%) received partner support, and the majority (60.1%) lived in supportive socio-cultural environments. However, most respondents (82.1%) did not choose to use IUD contraception. The chi-square test showed that knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.003), and partner support (p = 0.000) were significantly related to IUD use, whereas socio-cultural factors (p = 0.804) were not. The study concludes that knowledge, attitudes, and partner support are significantly associated with the decision to use IUD contraception at Singkut Health Center in 2024. Therefore, it is recommended that healthcare providers strengthen health promotion efforts regarding IUDs, especially through direct communication with the community by involving husbands and other family members.
Hasrita Octaliana, Nurul Fatimah Susanti, Endah Purda Listya Copyright (c) 2025 Hasrita Octaliana, Nurul Fatimah Susanti, Endah Purda Listya https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4243 Tue, 20 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pengaruh Metode Pengukusan Ikan Gabus (Channa striata) yang direndam dengan Ekstrak Jeruk Kunci terhadap Kadar Albumin https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4263
Snakehead fish (Channa Striata) is a type of freshwater fish that is widely known by the people of Indonesia. Qualitative research using a phenomenological approach is the methodology employed. Information was gathered by conducting in-depth conversations with two PKK members and one HIV program officer from Grogol Health Center. The results indicate that the knowledge of PKK women about HIV/AIDS is still limited and tends to be general, although they do understand some basic aspects of HIV transmission. Stigma manifests in the form of negative prejudice, social exclusion, and excessive, unfounded fear of HIV transmission through physical contact. This lack of understanding is exacerbated by misinformation from social media and societal norms that reinforce moral stigma. The main cause of this kind of stigma is a lack of education. Therefore, educational efforts and the empowerment of PKK women as agents of change are essential to disseminate accurate information about HIV/AIDS. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of lifestyle and the level of public knowledge on the risk of CHD through a systematic review approach. This study used a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing ten scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. The results of the review showed that unhealthy lifestyles, such as smoking, consumption of foods high in fat and salt, lack of physical activity, and conditions of hypertension and diabetes, significantly increase the risk of CHD. In addition, people's low understanding of a healthy diet, the importance of exercise, and awareness of avoiding risk factors are major barriers to prevention efforts. This study emphasizes the importance of health education and behavior change as key strategies in reducing the incidence of CHD. By increasing public awareness through nutrition education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, as well as the involvement of health workers and educational institutions, it is hoped that a culture of healthy living can be created from an early age as a long-term preventive measure.
Irfan Sazali Nasution, Arini Dwi Rahmadani, Windi Audina, Dinda Purnama Sari, Nailla Deswita Sari Copyright (c) 2025 Irfan Sazali Nasution, Arini Dwi Rahmadani, Windi Audina, Dinda Purnama Sari, Nailla Deswita Sari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4337 Tue, 20 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Determinan Pemanfaatan Pelayanan Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Of HIV (PMTCT) di Puskemas Biak Kota https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4347
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). One of the efforts to prevent HIV transmission from mother to child is through the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) services. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the utilization of PMTCT services by pregnant women at the Biak Kota Health Center, Biak Numfor Regency. The study design is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 80 pregnant women who attended pregnancy check-ups and were selected using purposive sampling. The main instrument used was a structured questionnaire. The analysis results show a significant relationship between parity (the number of previous births) and the utilization of PMTCT services (p=0.007). The exposure to information about PMTCT also showed a significant relationship (p=0.000). Multivariate analysis indicated that the exposure to information variable was the most dominant factor influencing the utilization of PMTCT services. The higher the level of exposure to information about the PMTCT program, the greater the likelihood that pregnant women will utilize the service. This highlights the importance of effective information dissemination to increase pregnant women's knowledge and awareness in preventing HIV transmission from mother to child.
Ingrit Rita Uli Manik Copyright (c) 2025 Ingrit Rita Uli Manik https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4347 Tue, 20 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Perlindungan Hukum dalam Kualitas Pelayanan Medis terhadap Hak dan Privasi Pasien Rawat Inap (Studi Kasus di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Provinsi Papua Barat) https://journal.yp3a.org/index.php/sehatrakyat/article/view/4346
This study aims to analyze legal protection, service quality and patient rights and privacy at the Regional General Hospital of West Papua Province.
