Analisis Manajemen Skrining Posyandu dan Mismatch Persepsi Ibu tentang Stunting dan Wasting Balita di Indonesia

The 2024 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) reported high coverage of Posyandu services, ownership of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbooks, and participation in child growth monitoring activities. However, these achievements do not necessarily reflect adequate caregiver understanding regarding child nutritional problems. This study aimed to analyze Posyandu screening management and the potential mismatch of nutritional information related to stunting and wasting among caregivers in Indonesia. This study employed a cross-sectional design using secondary aggregate data obtained from the SSGI 2024 report. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing indicators of Posyandu services, utilization of the MCH handbook, community knowledge regarding stunting, and anthropometric nutritional status indicators. The results showed that 78.5% of caregivers were able to present the MCH handbook, 85.1% received explanations regarding the handbook from health workers or community health volunteers, and 87.4% participated in routine child weighing. However, only 53.3% discussed the handbook contents with family members. Furthermore, 54.7% of respondents still perceived that stunted children were not problematic as long as they appeared healthy. The national prevalence of stunting and wasting reached 19.8% and 7.4%, respectively. This study concludes that high administrative coverage of Posyandu services has not been fully accompanied by adequate family health literacy. Strengthening health communication, optimizing the educational function of the MCH handbook, and improving family health literacy are recommended to enhance Posyandu screening management.
