ELECTRONIC FILING

Electronic Filing

Electronic filing means the electronic archiving of the articles that Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran (DIAJAR) has published, and of the related records. Its purpose is to keep the scholarly record intact, to make it possible to recover it after a loss of data, and to keep it available to readers. This page gives an overview of the arrangements and states honestly which of them are working now. The detailed rules for the content and the handling of the archive are given in the Archiving Policy.

1. Electronic Filing Arrangements

The journal distinguishes four different arrangements. They have different purposes, and one of them should not be mistaken for another.

Arrangement What it is Status Where it is described
Online issue archive Previously published issues and articles can be read on the journal website. Operating Journal archive and Open Access Policy
Electronic backup Copies of the publication files and of the system records are kept to help recovery after a loss of data or a disruption. Operating Section 3 of the Archiving Policy
Long term digital preservation Arrangements to keep the content accessible even if the journal website or the publisher stops operating. Not yet verified Section 2 of this page and section 5 of the Archiving Policy
Author self archiving Permission for authors to deposit their work in repositories. Permitted Copyright Notice and section 6 of the Open Access Policy

2. Status of Long Term Preservation

At present, no specific external preservation service and no verified preservation coverage are identified for DIAJAR. The following should not be taken as proof of independent long term digital preservation.

  1. The availability of the journal website.
  2. The permission for authors to deposit manuscripts in repositories.
  3. The assignment of a DOI to an article.
  4. The backup copies that are kept for recovery after a technical failure.
Our commitment to accuracy. The journal will state that its content is preserved through a named service only after its participation in that service and the actual deposit of the content have been verified. Planned arrangements will always be clearly separated from services that are already operating.

3. Preservation Planning

The journal intends to establish and document arrangements that cover the following content.

  1. The full text files of the articles.
  2. The bibliographic metadata of the articles.
  3. Supplementary materials that have been published with the articles.
  4. Correction notices, expressions of concern, and retraction notices, which are explained in the Correction and Retraction policy.

When these arrangements are established, this page will state the following details.

  1. The storage or preservation provider.
  2. The content that is covered.
  3. How often the content is deposited or backed up.
  4. The procedures for recovery.
  5. How readers will continue to have access to the content if the journal or the publisher stops operating.

4. Self Archiving by Authors

Authors may deposit their work in repositories. Authors may make separate, nonexclusive arrangements to distribute the published version, for example in an institutional repository or in a book, as long as the first publication in DIAJAR is acknowledged. Authors are also permitted and encouraged to post their work online before and during submission. The journal does not apply an embargo to the deposit of published articles. The conditions are explained in the Copyright Notice and in section 6 of the Open Access Policy, and the terms of reuse are given on the Licensing page.

5. Transparency

This page is written in line with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, which ask journals to describe their practices accurately and not to claim more than they do.
