AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Author Guidelines

Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran (DIAJAR) is published by Yayasan Pendidikan Penelitian Pengabdian Algero. These guidelines explain how to prepare and submit a manuscript to DIAJAR. Authors are responsible for the content of their manuscripts, and a manuscript must be original and must not have been published before. Please write your manuscript directly in the DIAJAR article template (see the Template link in the sidebar of the journal website). Manuscripts that do not follow these guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision before the review process begins.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 Language and Length

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. The abstract must be provided in both languages. The manuscript is written on A4 paper and must be at least 6 pages, not including the reference list, and at most 15 pages, including tables and figures. The manuscript must follow the layout and writing conventions shown in the article template.

3.2 Page Setup and Typography

Use Times New Roman for the whole manuscript. The main text is written in 10 pt with single spacing and is justified (aligned to both the left and right margins), except in tables, figures, and the reference list. The page size is A4 (210 mm x 297 mm), with top and bottom margins of 2 cm and left and right margins of 3 cm. The table below summarizes the formatting of each element.

Element Size Style Notes
Title 15pt Bold Maximum 15 words, with the first letter of each word capitalized
Author names 10pt Regular No academic titles, with superscript numbers linking to affiliations
Affiliations and emails 10pt Regular All emails are shown, and the corresponding author is marked with *
Abstract heading 10pt Bold Single spacing, with 10 pt spacing before
Abstract content 10pt English in italic, Indonesian in regular A single paragraph of 150 to 250 words
Keywords 10pt Regular 3 to 5 keywords, separated by commas
Section headings 10pt Bold, capital letters Numbered automatically by the template, for example 1. INTRODUCTION
Subheadings 10pt Italic, not bold Numbered automatically, for example 2.1
Body text 10pt Regular Single spacing, justified, with 6 pt spacing between paragraphs
Table captions and table contents 9pt Regular Not bold and not colored
Figure captions 9pt Regular Centered, placed below the figure
Reference list 9pt Regular IEEE format, not justified

3.3 Title

The title must be clear, direct, concise, and informative, and it must represent the content of the article. The title consists of no more than 15 words and may be written in Indonesian or English. It is set in Times New Roman 15 pt, in bold, with the first letter of each word capitalized.

3.4 Authors and Affiliations

Write the full names of the authors clearly and without academic titles. Use a superscript number after each name to link it to the affiliation, and write the affiliation in the order of study program, faculty, institution, city, and country. Show the email addresses of all authors. If the corresponding author is not the first author, add the symbol * after the name and the email address of the corresponding author. Please also add the names of all authors in the metadata when you submit the manuscript on the journal website.

3.5 Article Information, Abstract, and Keywords

The template contains an Article Information box. The Submitted, Accepted, and Published dates in this box are completed by the editorial team, so authors do not need to change them. Enter the keywords of the manuscript in the same box, with up to five keywords.

The abstract is a single paragraph of 150 to 250 words that can stand on its own. It should summarize the background and objective, the method, the main findings, and the conclusion of the study. Provide the abstract in English under the heading Abstract, set in italic, and in Indonesian under the heading Abstrak, set in regular type. After the Indonesian abstract, write 3 to 5 keywords after Kata Kunci and separate them with commas.

3.6 Manuscript Structure

The main sections are fixed, and authors should not add or remove any of them. Authors may add subsections where they are needed. The sections are listed below.

Section What it should contain
1. Introduction The introduction answers four questions: (a) what is the background of the study, (b) what do brief reviews of related studies show, (c) why is this study needed, and (d) what is the research question or objective. The state of the art, the gap analysis, and the novelty of the study should be visible here. Avoid long discussions of general literature and general definitions. Cite the sources that support each statement.
2. Research Method Describe the research method and techniques that were used. The description should be brief but accurate, for example covering the research design, the subjects or participants, the instruments, the procedures, and the data analysis techniques. A new method must be explained in enough detail for other researchers to reproduce the study. A method that is already well established can be described by citing references. Avoid writing general scientific concepts and definitions.
3. Results and Discussion Present the results in a logical order so that they form a coherent story. The results show facts and data, and the interpretation is left to the discussion. Tables and figures may be used, but the same data should not be repeated in the text, the tables, and the figures. Subheadings may be used to make the explanation clearer. The discussion explains the basis, the relationships, and the generalizations shown by the results, and it answers the research question. If some results are doubtful, present them objectively.
4. Conclusion The conclusion does not contain citations. It states the facts that were obtained and answers the problem or objective of the study, without becoming a discussion again. State possible applications, implications, and appropriate speculation, and give suggestions for further research if they are needed. Write the conclusion as sentences in paragraph form, not as a numbered list.
Acknowledgements (if any) Mention the names of the funders and of the parties that provided facilities and support.
References The list of sources cited in the manuscript, prepared as explained in section 4 below.

3.7 Headings and Subheadings

Use the styles provided in the template for headings. The numbering of sections and subsections is generated automatically, so you do not need to type the numbers manually. Main section headings are written in capital letters and in bold. Subheadings are not bold and are written in italic. A subsection must not contain only a single paragraph.

3.8 Tables

Number the tables in the order in which they are presented (Table 1, Table 2, and so on). Write the table caption above the table, centered, without bold and without color. Use 9 pt for both the caption and the contents of the table. Every table must be mentioned and explained in the text. Do not use vertical lines in a table.

3.9 Figures

Number the figures in the order in which they are presented (Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on). Write the figure caption below the figure, centered, in 9 pt. Every figure must be mentioned and explained in the text. Make sure that each figure is clear and legible, and state the source of the figure below it.

3.10 Equations

Write equations clearly by using the equation editor, and number them in order in parentheses at the right margin, for example (1) and (2). Every variable in an equation must be explained in a sentence after the equation, for example "where F is the frequency (MHz) and A is the electrode area (cm²)".

3.11 Writing Style and Layout

The easiest way to obtain the correct layout is to write directly in the article template. In the discussion, avoid numbering (1, 2, 3 or a, b, c) and avoid bullets or other list symbols, and write the ideas as sentences instead. Avoid leaving empty areas on a page. Keep the writing focused, and avoid general concepts and definitions that readers already know.

4. Citations and References

DIAJAR uses the IEEE numbered citation style. In the text, cite a source with its number in square brackets, such as [1], [2, 3], or [4]–[6]. Number the references in the order in which they first appear in the text, starting from 1.

Please observe the following rules.

  1. Every source in the reference list must be cited in the text, and every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list.
  2. Use at least 10 primary references that were published within the last 5 years.
  3. Every reference must include a DOI link (reference linking) whenever a DOI is available.
  4. Write the reference list in 9 pt, in IEEE format, and without justification.
  5. Use a reference manager such as Mendeley or Zotero, and select the IEEE style, to manage your references.

The examples below show the IEEE format for the most common types of sources.

Type of source Example format
Journal article [1] A. B. Author, C. D. Author, and E. F. Author, “Title of the article,” Abbreviated Journal Name, vol. 5, no. 3, pp. 100–110, Jul. 2026, doi: 10.xxxx/xxxxx.
