POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION
Post Publication Discussion
Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran (DIAJAR) welcomes scholarly discussion of the articles that it has published, when the discussion is based on evidence. Valuable contributions include questions about the method of a study, alternative interpretations of the findings, results of replication in other schools or regions, comments on the use of the findings in teaching and learning practice, and other substantive observations. Such contributions are sent to the editorial office, which handles them as described on this page.
Please choose the route that fits your purpose.
| What you want to do | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Comment on the method, the analysis, or the interpretation of a published article, or report results of a replication | This page |
| Point out an error that needs to be corrected in the published article | Correction and Retraction |
| Report suspected plagiarism, fabrication, or another form of misconduct | Allegations of Misconduct |
| Submit new research in response to a published article | Author Guidelines and Peer Review Process |
1. Submitting a Scholarly Comment
Please send your comment by email to jurnal.diajar@gmail.com, and use the subject line Scholarly Comment: [Article Title and DOI]. Comments may be written in Indonesian or English and must be signed with the full name, the affiliation, and the email address of the person who submits them. The comment should include the following.
- The title and the DOI of the article that the comment is about.
- The specific issue that is raised.
- The reasoning or the evidence that supports the comment.
- The relevant references.
- Any competing interests of the person who submits the comment, as described in the Conflicts of Interest policy.
Please observe the following points.
- Keep the comment concise, so that it can be assessed with a clear focus.
- Criticism must be about the work and not about the personal characteristics of the authors.
- Separate clearly what has been shown to be an error, what is still an open question, and what is only a difference of interpretation.
- Leave out confidential information and information that identifies participants, such as students, teachers, and schools, unless it is really needed.
2. Editorial Consideration and Author Response
The editors assess the relevance, the clarity, the evidence, and the contribution of a comment to the understanding of the article. The authors of the article may be invited to respond, and the editors may ask independent specialists for advice when it is needed. The right of the authors to respond does not allow them to decide whether a valid criticism is considered.
Disagreement with an article does not automatically lead to the publication of a comment. A concern that is raised on an external scholarly platform may be examined once it has been brought to the attention of the journal. A person who reports a credible concern about integrity does not need to have a comment published before the concern is assessed.
3. Publication and Assessment Status
A comment or a reply that is approved for publication is clearly labeled and is linked to the article that it discusses. Correspondence that has been assessed by the editors is not presented as having gone through the standard peer review of the journal. A contribution that is submitted as a new research article follows the Peer Review Process.
The journal does not promise that a comment will be published automatically, and it does not promise a fixed time for its publication. This procedure does not limit lawful public criticism of the articles of the journal, or the reuse of the articles that are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license outside the journal, as described on the Licensing page.
Related Policies and Enquiries
Suspected misconduct is handled through the Allegations of Misconduct procedure. Errors that require a change to the published record are handled under the Correction and Retraction policy. General standards of conduct are described in Publication Ethics. Questions about this page can be sent to the editorial office at jurnal.diajar@gmail.com.
